Synopsis
Each episode begins with a simple musical spark—a guitar riff, bass line, beat, melody, vocal idea, or groove. Instead of a traditional sit-down interview, the artist shows the audience the music first. The series then tracks that idea as it grows: breaking down the inspiration, experimenting with sounds, adding musicians and production elements, and ultimately revealing the finished track.
The storytelling moves back and forth between the raw creation and the completed music, allowing viewers to hear exactly how a small idea transforms into a fully produced record. Short, entertaining conversations with artists, songwriters, producers, engineers, musicians, and other music creators provide the story behind the sound without interrupting the energy of the performance.
RiffTracking can also explore the larger culture surrounding music creation—from recording studios and new technology to instruments, gear, emerging artists, legendary musicians, and the brands helping shape how music is made.
